Website Ace litigator

Our client Ace Litigator is looking to recruit an Associate Advocate with experience in dispute resolution and legal research and drafting at our Head Offices in Nairobi. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor of Legal Laws degree with a minimum of second class upper. 
  • Admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with at least 1-year post admission experience. 
  • Current Practicing Certificate from the High Court of Kenya. 
  • Membership to the Law Society of Kenya in good standing. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and ability to work on digital platforms, database, spreadsheet and word-processing software. 
  • Legal Technical Knowledge and research and drafting skills. 
  • Analytical Thinker. 
  • High Work Standards. 
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Fulfill the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • To drafting and review of dispute resolution documents. 
  • To furnish legal opinions and advice on diverse areas of the law. 
  • To carry out consultations with clients and fellow advocates. 
  • To keep up-to-date with changes in the law and reviewing emerging and existing legislations. 
  • To attend court and other tribunals including quasi- judicial tribunals. 
  • To conduct negotiations with a view to settling potentially litigious matters. 
  • Conducting the administration of a legal practice, including file management and electronic time-keeping. 
  • Researching on diverse range of assigned issues, documents and case history to ensure accuracy of advice and procedures. 
  • Receiving requests for legal advice from current and potential clients and deciding on the most appropriate responses to make to these requests. 
  • To develop and maintain good client relationship skills, gaining clients’ confidence and that of other professionals. 
  • To be strategic and commercially aware and be fully familiar with the firm’s current strategy. To display knowledge about the target market the firm operates in, the threats and opportunities the department faces and the future plans for the Department and their role in those plans. 
  • Ability to create training material and conduct physical and virtual trainings 
  • Creating and presenting reports using online tools.
